Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place recently, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the esteemed Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with honors for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, the skilled actors also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards throughout the event.
Additional notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by experts.
