The Gruesome Animated Movie Conclusion That Haunts Audiences

Out of every adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve ever viewed, nothing has stuck with me as much as the fear-filled conclusion of a viscerally violent and highly provocative film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, the Spain-based writer-director created a dark, bleak and often savage world that included a few small , forlorn glimmers of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars appears as it stemmed from a drive to advance the medium further, the filmmaker clarified that it was rather an effort to express a universal, cross-cultural theme regarding “the common origin of all wars.”

That message is expressed via a squad of colorful pastel bears , openly modeled after a popular line of cuddly characters.

Growing up in a culture built around militarism and the war machine, numerous the bears are consumed by slaughtering unicorns, because of a religious scripture that claims them they were once rulers of the woodland, before the horned beings expelled them.

Others haven’t fully accepted the indoctrination, , choose to sample narcotics and mate outdoors.

Unlike their gentle equivalents, these colorful critters have visible genitals and obvious libidos.

For one notably brutal, pessimistic creature, Bluey, the war against the unicorns transforms into a road toward dominance — and especially to dominance above his gentler, kinder brother the character Tubby.

The character acts as a tormentor , an apparent psychopath , and while terror takes over his group and claims his teammates individually, he takes increasingly power for himself, in increasingly gory, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, the horned creatures are experiencing their own horror, in the form of an expanding, destructive monster in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it feels like a humorous movie,” the director said. “However it evolves into a more serious and sad movie. And by the end, it becomes a scary feature.”

Unicorn Wars commences resembling one of the more playful movies from a renowned filmmaker, that uncover a mischievous joy in allowing cartoon characters curse, shoot each other, or engage sexually.

Subsequently it becomes closer to a bleaker film from that artist, with increasingly visual gore and a tangible connection to the real tragedy of conflict.

Ultimately, it’s a full-on extreme drama bloodbath.

The fear that makes this a perfect Halloween viewing begins much sooner than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the hardcore lovers of violence, for fans of extreme cinema who wish to view something they haven’t ever seen on-screen before, and are able to withstand a plot that pulls absolutely no punches.

Watch it in a dimly lit space with no disturbances, and that ending will burrow into your mind and linger.
