"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.
