Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and after last week's talk regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their perfect starts.
Striking in those games was the number of infractions both committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.
But it was good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.
Denver have the top defender with CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four defenders instead they could plug two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on of the season, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
New TE their tight end has excelled significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).
It's impressive that head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates how Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.
This has helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they don't move in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he is highly agile.
His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver precision throws across the middle and past defenders.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
If you constantly rush it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to be in play extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area downfield side to side. It can be draining.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.
The head coach owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the success Denver are having offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him what he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need is to continue this trajectory.
They excel at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win any game.
Ever since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, this team are also the first team to be without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.
The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.
It depends upon which form of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
